Q: What is Preterism?

1. It depicts the raw carnage and destruction of 70 a.d. as the “blessed hope” (1 Thess 2:19).

2. This coming, which was to be as visible as lightening, was invisible, unseen, even unnoticed.

3. Universal judgment at Christ’s return only affected the Jews.

4. According to 2 Peter 3, the parousia is to be accompanied by the destruction of the present earth and heaven. Maybe I just missed it.

5. It assumes a pre 70 ad date for Revelation (possible, but not likely)
